Description
When drawing this :
I had no idea how popular this work would become.
I mean, I loved the idea, but I wasn't happy with the artwork and I even wanted to put in in scraps. Surprisingly, you all here loved it so much, it's become my most popular deviation ever, scoring more than 4.5k favs, being published in an artbook, and sadly - being ripped off many, many times.
As *zaphiel-san encouraged me to take part in the Most Improved contest, I decided to redraw this piece and try to do the concept justice This time I used markers, marker paper and other kind of pens.
I'm really happy, because even though I won't win anything, this contest helped me to notice I gained many skills during those 3 years :
-better anatomy,
-folds!!!
-I can colour white stuff
-THE HAIR<3 <3 <3
-the colouring is now smooth and pleasant to the eye,
-the poses are better and more dramatic,
-the faces are cooler and their expressions are way better ^^
etc. etc
The funny thing was, I drew this pic on A3 paper (huge!) and I couldn't scan it at home, so I visited two xerocopy centres today to have it scanned. (one guy nearly destroyed the art! >< )When I opened the files at home, I was so dissatisfied with the outcome I wanted to cry. All the subtle shades were gone!
So I took the risk and scanned it in parts using my lovely Canon - and phew, it turned out really nicely
Thanks for faving the older version again ^^ If you think I've improved over the years, remember to give me a fav again, please
Have a nice weekend!!!!
